Learning objectives

To provide information required to understand the interaction between tumor and the host, the clinical consequences of this interaction, and the biological bases of antitumor therapies.

Lectures will concern:
a) neoplastic cachexia
b) the paraneoplastic syndromes
c) hematologic and hemostatic alterations in malignancy
d) tumor immunology
e) the biological bases of antitumor therapy: chemotherapy
f) the biological bases of antitumor therapy: biological drugs
