Integrated course unit module: RESPIRATORY AND CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES

Learning objectives

1) to familiarize with the iamging techniques
2) basic semeiotic concepts for the intrpretation of the main thoracic disorders
3) clinical-radiologica correlations for the routine activity

Course unit content

Basic concepts of thoracic imaging.
A number of topics will be discussed as follows:
imaging in obstructive pulmonary diseases
-imaging in interstitial lung disease
imaging in lung cancer
-imaging in acute lung diseases
-cardiac imaging

Full programme

Indications for the main diagnostic techniques for the assessment of pulmonary and cardio-vascular diseaes will be outlined. Specifically, chest radiography and computed tomogrphy imaging will be discussed with regards to the obstructive lung diseases, interstitial lung diseases, acute lung diseases, neoplasms and cardio-vascular diseases.
