Learning objectives

The course aims to allow the student to know and
understand the main diagnostic laboratory tests, blood diseases, endocrine system and visual apparatus in relation to sports activity.
Learn about the effects of physical activity and sport on the main laboratory parameters on blood cells, the endocrine system and the visual system.
The basic principles of general pharmacology applied in particular to physical and sporting activity will also have to be acquired.

Course unit content

The lessons will focus on the effects of physical and sport activity on the main haematological, laboratory, endocrinological parameters and on the visual apparatus. In addition, aspects of haematological and endocrinological laboratory diagnostics will be developed.
The basic principles of pharmacology will also be the subject of the course.

The majority of the teaching materials will be available of the Elly platform.

Teaching methods

Lectures will be held on-site in compliance with safety standards, provided that further instructions on the ongoing health emergency are not implemented. Supporting material will be available on the specific, student-reserved platform (Elly) and will include slide presentations, audio-video aids or video-recording of the lectures.

Assessment methods and criteria

The primary mode of verification will be to make interactive lessons with questions aimed at students and their active involvement in the discussion on the main issues discussed during class.
A final check will be made through written and/or oral test with open questions on the main topics discussed during the lectures.
In case of the persistence of the health emergency, the exams will be conducted remotely using a dedicated interactive paltform.
