Course unit content

The Representation Laboratory aims to provide the knowledge of the Drawing language necessary in the process of conceiving, creating and designing an object, using different methods and tools. The drawing, analogue and digital, will be declined in the most suitable expressive modalities for the designer's training.

Through the codified methods of representation, starting from the fundamentals of projective geometry, the methods of orthogonal projections, central projections (perspective) and axonometric projections will be addressed, whose applications will converge in exercises that will be assigned by the teacher.
The expressive methods of the drawing and its execution (analogue or digital) will allow to investigate and represent the object in all its peculiarities, thus meaning digital drawing not as a substitute tool but as a tool that complements and integrates analogue drawing.

Assessment methods and criteria

All individual exercises assigned in the classroom by the teacher will be subject to specific assessment.
At the end of the workshop, students will be assigned a single final exercise (to be performed in groups) which will be declined and performed by applying the different theoretical contents addressed in the three teaching modules and using the tools and techniques addressed in the course by the student.
