Learning objectives

the student must be able to
1) fulfill the responsibilities related to one's role:
respect the obligations of the internship,
don't be selective in your activities
carry out the work assigned
inquire or seek help before starting unfamiliar activities
2) recognize the structure in which it is located and the different professional figures:
identify the operational unit and the reference department
identify the structural characteristics of the operating unit
recognize the different professional figures and their roles
3)
respect the rights of individuals and their families
respect the role of other professionals and collaborate with them
give information promptly and courteously
use clear and appropriate language for different situations
respect privacy

4) read, understand, collect and report data based on the nursing process
read and understand the information given in the delivery or in the nursing card
collect and record data on medical records,
collect and record objective and subjective data, with respect to the various life activities
identify nursing diagnoses
identify possible assistance interventions.

5) prevent hospital infections
perform social and / or antiseptic and / or alcoholic hand washing, as needed
apply the concepts of cleaning, antisepsis, disinfection and sterilization

inquire about the person's pathology even if not addressed theoretically

help the person: to assume the sitting position when walking in bed mobilization

Prerequisites

the student must have successfully passed the 1st year clinical laboratory and the basic activities laboratory

Teaching methods

internship in a medical clinic where the student is supported by a clinical tutor

small group workshops for the simulation of nursing procedures in a protected environment

Assessment methods and criteria

the student will have to produce on paper (teaching folder) an assistance plan concerning a clinical case observed during the internship. the oral exam includes an interview where the student will have to explain and discuss the assistance plan and demonstrate critical thinking in the reasoning and actions described.

compulsory attendance for a total of 300 hours
