Course unit content

The course deals with the textual and critical analysis of two fundamental essays concerning contemporary aesthetics, "The languages of art" by Nelson Goodman and "The transfiguration of the commonplace. A philosophy of art" by Arthur C. Danto. The main purpose of the course is to verify their persistent relevance or the debate they fuelled in more recent influential authors, who still continue to confront themeselves with those two "classics".
