Learning objectives
D1- Knowledge and comprehension
The aim of the Course is to provide students a baseline to know and understand the diagnostic pathway end the criteria of prophylaxis of infectious diseases of domestic animals. The student must demonstrate knowledge and comprehension of:
a) diagnostic tests to demonstrate the aetiology of different infectious disease;
b) presence and prevalence of a pathogen in an infection case involving a single animal or a herd;
c) interpretation of the results of different laboratory tests for direct and indirect (serology) to detect an infectious disease;
d) to learn, understand and apply the principles at setting up a program of immunization by vaccination procedures.
D2- Ability to apply knowledge and skills
At the end of the Orienteering Course the student should be able:
a) to perform the main diagnostic test;
b) to write a final report of diagnostic data;
c) to set up of program of vaccination;
d) to assess the result of a vaccination program over time.
The course develops through laboratory practice and simulation under the supervision of the Professor.
D3 Making Judgements
The student at the end of the educational program will be able to:
a) Formulate autonomously a prognostic opinion on the development of pathology and clinical conditions
