The course will consist of two modules: the first is to provide a theoretical knowledge of the lexical system of Russian and lexicographical tools and train the students in their use. The part about processes of lexical formation will be considered in its practical applications to contemporary Russian, in order to develop students' lexical competence. It will be followed by a practical application and that will include a lexicographical excursus which will examine monolingual dictionaries, bilingual and so on. and other tools of the translator.
The second module aims to prepare students for a methodological approach to literary translation from Russian. It will cover, in addition to linguistic analysis of texts, preparation of test translations of these texts in collaboration with the teacher.
