Title of course: Investigating Language in Context
During the course we will examine different text genres (literary, economic e juridical) in search of the lingustic markers and in grammatical and lexical choices that are recurrent in each particular genre. Furthermore students will be introduced to Corpus Linguistics in order to develop their analytical skills by consulting both representative and specialised corpora not only in search of meaning in the context and co-text of different textual genres chosen (by means of collocation, colligation, preferred semantic meaning, positive or negative semantic prosody) but also writing and translation skills
