THIS COURSE HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO OFFER A REFLECTION ON THE DEFINITION OF DEVELOPMENT ACCORDING TO A RANGE OF THEORIES, PRESENTATION OF THE CRITICAL ISSUES IN DEVELOPMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY AND AN OVERVIEW OF THE PRINCIPAL METHODS OF RESEARCH IN THIS FIELD. THE PRINCIPAL LINES OF DEVELOPMENT IN EARLY CHILDHOOD WILL BE DEVELOPED IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT, SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT, THE MOTHER-CHILD RELATIONSHIP, CONCEPT OF SELF, DEVELOPMENT OF LANGUAGE AND ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE. THE CONCEPT OF DEVELOPMENT OF EMOTIONAL SKILLS IN THE PRESCHOOL YEARS WILL BE EXAMINED FROM A THEORETICAL AND EMPIRICAL STANDPOINT.<br />
