Course unit content
The sound and the industrial noise: characteristics, classification and criteria for risk assessment; the meaning of personal exposure and exposure level.
General principles for the noise measurement: instrumentation, the equivalent continuous level (Leq). Noise-induced hearing loss: development, susceptibility factors, possible co-exposure with other risk factors. Assessment and diagnosis of occupationally-related hearing loss; classification and interpretation according the occupational medicine guidelines; differential criteria. The control of hearing of workers occupationally exposed to noise: quality criteria.
