Learning objectives
At the end of the activity, the student will be able:
• to distinguish a scientific publication from other sort of publications;
• to search in the psychological journals (paper or online) articles related to a psychological topic of his choice;
• to write a synthetic scientifically correct report on the chosen topic.

Course unit content
The activity will introduce the students to the topics of researching scientific material (in the libraries or online) and to write a research report. The first topic will be presented with reference to the following issues: organization of a psychological library, the scientific products, the online material. As to the second issue, the teacher will explain how to organize and write a scientific essay on a psychological topic.

Bibliography
The students will work on all the published material (paper or online) in the scientific journals that are present in the library of Psychology at the University of Parma.
Teaching methods
The activity will be mostly practical. The students will be asked to solve tasks in classroom on the different topics introduced by the teacher.
Assessment methods and criteria
The students who attend the lessons will be evaluated in the tasks that the teacher will ask them to perform during the activity.
The students who do not attend the lessons will have to write a three-pages scientific report on a topic that they choose, by elaborating on three scientific papers published in psychological journals.
