Learning objectives
At the end of the course, the students will have the basic knowledge about the psychology of health and will be able to face the psychological dynamics concerning the issues related to health and illness.

Course unit content
The course will be organized in two parts: one focused on the basic concepts of Health Psychology and another centred on the possible applications of the discipline.
In particular, the main issues will be: psychological models in the psychology of health, cognitive and emotional components of stress, psychosocial processes of social support, doctor-patient communication, psychology in the hospital, quality of life and illness, styles of life and illness.
