Learning objectives

The objective of the course is to apply, through the study of Tasso’s poetry, the author’s philological methodology and of the criticism of the variants.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of the methodology of Italian philology provided by a basic course in Italian philology.

Course unit content

The course is dedicated to the study of the author’s placement of Tasso’s love poetry, from the first collection edited in the Rime degli Eterei to the final printing of Osanna.

Teaching methods

After a series of traditional lessons, the students will be invited to actively participate in the lessons with presentations and discussions in class, under the guidance of the professor, of texts assigned to them at the beginning of the course. <br />
