Learning objectives

The aim of the course is the acquisition of a solid linguistic competence
of Russian spoken and written at elementary level (A1/A2).
At the end of the course the student
− will be able to read a Cyrillic text;
- will possess a good knowledge of the morphology of
Russian noun and a smattering of that of the verb;
− will develop cognitive and practical skills useful for managing information and a
solve simple communication interactions;
− will be able to produce simple written texts in Russian.

None.

Course unit content

The course intends to introduce the studente to the study of:
Elements of phonetics and phonology: Russian consonant and vowel system,
intonation.
– Basic nominal and verbal morphology: noun declension,
of the adjective and pronoun, the degrees of the adjective. The verb: ways, tenses.
Introduction of the aspect: formation and use of the aspectual pair. The
motion verbs: the categories of unidirectional and multidirectional verb.
– First elements of syntax;
– Introduction to written translation from Italian into Russian and from Russian into
Italian.
– Introduction to oral translation from Italian into Russian and from Russian into
Italian.

Teaching methods

The course will take place through lectures and practical exercises in
class.

Assessment methods and criteria

The exam includes an assessment with final exams in written language e
Oral. The final tests are divided into:
Written
- active and multiple choice grammar test on the program performed
in the year;
- verification test of understanding a text (čtenie);
- composing a letter in the Russian language showing the
knowledge of vocabulary and understanding of grammatical structures e
syntax of the student (pis'mo);
- audio testing (audirovanie).
Oral
The student must be able to read, translate and summarize the
readings done in class during the year and the texts read at home, as well
be able to hold a short conversation on everyday topics. Furthermore
you will have to sight-read and translate a first level Russian text which
will be submitted to him during the exam and answer in Russian
some questions regarding its content.
