Learning objectives

The course aims to provide students with the basis for approaching the dissemination of the results of a research activity. In this sense, the expected learning outcomes are:
1) Knowledge of the ethical and practical reasons underlying the process of disseminating scientific data.
2) Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: independently apply the acquired knowledge to create a scientific report or public presentation.
3) 3) Communication skills: Use the language, verbal and non-verbal of scientific disciplines.
4) Making judgments: knowing and facing the responsibilities of correctly communicating research results.
5) Learning skills: use knowledge and basic elements for the dissemination of scientific results.

Course unit content

The course provides tools and information for a correct and effective dissemination of data generated by scientific research activities both as written texts and as public presentations.
In particular, the course will deal with explaining the reasons that underlie the dissemination process, methods and techniques for drafting a written text in the form of a scientific work or a patent text and finally the methods and techniques for the presentation in public in oral form (poster or podium).

Assessment methods and criteria

To achieve a positive evaluation, the student must demonstrate that he has understood, and is able to use, the fundamental concepts of each topic by taking a written exam, in the appeals of the official exam calendar of the Department of Food and Drug Sciences
The assessment, expressed as suitability, will be carried out on the basis of the following criteria:
1. knowledge and understanding of the topics studied;
2. independence of judgment and ability to link the topics studied;
3. communication skills and appropriateness in the use of technical language;
4. learning ability.
