The course is aimed at providing the basic knowledge to tackle problems in heat transfer and fluid flows.
Course unit content
<br />Heat transfer. Conduction, convection, radiative heat transfer. Fourier law, thermal conductivity, Fourier equation. Heat transfer coeficient, Nusselt number. Black body and gray body; Stefan Boltzmann law, Plank law, Wien law. View factors, thermal shields. Fluid flow, viscosity, rheology. Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids. Fully developed flows. Heat exchangers.
