Learning objectives
The aim of the course is encourage the students’mental attitude oriented towards the understanding of natural and common law as well as the laws as well as the laws and regulations governing the profession of the veterinary surgeon and related animal care professions, with specific reference to those governing relations with the health and veterinary institutions and organisation (ethical code of conduct) and those that safeguard the well-being of animals.

This course specifically covers the following subjects: fundamental concepts of law and jurisprudence; the organisation of animal health and related professions at international, EU and national level: the basic techniques and regulations for the protection and wellbeing of horses in all production activities (rearing; the CITES regulation; doping and anti-doping; the health operator and the veterinary surgeon (civil and penal responsibility) and safeguarding of the law (animal trade, related activities, safety in the workplace, application of rules concerning the use and distribution of medicines).
