Integrated course unit module: NEUROLINGUISTICS II

Learning objectives

Understanding and correct conceptualization of neurological semeiotics and the anatomical correlates of the CNS and PNS.

Good knowledge of the main neurological diseases and syndromes, and their diagnostic workup.

Course unit content

The module offers a complete overview of neurological syndromes and pathologies, never neglecting the importance of neurological semeiotics and knowledge of the anatomical and neurophysiological correlates. The course focuses on neurological pathologies and syndromes that compromise language, speech and swallowing functions.

Students are reminded to check the teaching material available, and the

Teaching methods

Lectures will be held on-site in compliance with safety standards,
provided that further instructions on the ongoing health emergency are
not implemented. Supporting material will be available on the specific,
student-reserved platform (Elly) and will include slide presentations. Some lessons include clinical cases presentation and video sessions

Assessment methods and criteria

Oral examination. Oral examination. The test will assess the knowledge of the main neurological disease. Above all, it will evaluate the student's ability to classify a patient with neurological signs and symptoms.
