Learning objectives
At the end of the course the student is expected to have drawn on the knowledge and skills to evaluate and enhance the oenological product through the ampelographic and territorial study, and to understand the language related to the close relationship between wine and terroir: a fundamental element aimed at a effective communication in the various professional fields.
Prerequisites
Propaedeutic courses are not formally required.
Course unit content
The "Valorisation of wine production" course aims to provide the student with a complete overview of the wine culture, analyzed in its geo-historical, socio-environmental and production dimensions. The teaching activity will also analyze in detail the various elements that belong to the oenological sphere, taking into account the sustainable, sensorial and communication aspects of the wine product and the fundamentals relating to the wine industry and the terroir

Bibliography
Lecture notes and ppt, sector articles and bibliographic material consistent with the topics covered. All relevant contributions will be distributed to students through the Elly online platform.
Teaching methods
The lessons will be administered online (according to the guidelines to contrast the spread of COVID-19), also through in-depth study of case studies and seminars with professionals and external guests of the wine sector. To support the teaching activity, videos and other multimedia material will be used.
Acquisition of technical language: this will allow the student to develop skills in communicating their point of view on the topic under discussion, also using the specific technical language provided by this course.
The teaching materials include the ppt and contributions used during the lessons, the study of specific cases and provided by the guests during the seminars, as well as, given the health emergency, the video-recordings of the lessons carried out in streaming on the Microsoft Teams platform. The course materials provided in Elly must be considered as a reference for both attending and non-attending students
Assessment methods and criteria
Written paper on the instruction of the teacher.
The "honors" will be awarded to those particularly deserving students who, in addition to having complied with the necessary requirements to obtain the full evaluation, in carrying out the test have overall demonstrated an appreciable systematic knowledge of the subject, an excellent ability to apply the knowledge acquired, as well as particular care in the formal drafting of the paper
