Teaching methods

The course will be made of both theoretical and practical lessons. Several case studies will be described and analysed. The lab experience will be focused mainly on the simulation of contaminant transport and bioremediation approaches. The students will work in lab under the supervision of the teacher.

Assessment methods and criteria

Practical problems and the simulation of complex professional works will be used to expand the ability of the students in terms of problem solving and communication. The problems will be analysed through an interdisciplinary approach, using a group work, where each group is made of students coming from Earth Sciences and Technologies, Environmental Sciences and Technologies, and Environmental Engineering.
The students knowledge and ability will be evaluated through an oral exam, made of five questions at least. The laude will be acquired in case of outstanding probelm solving capacity.
