Course unit content
As an approach to the themes of architectural design, considering the building as a response to the essential settlement needs of a society over time and in a given place is the fundamental theme of the Course. On this basis are investigated the essential components, spatial, distributive, structural, of the house in history until today, identifying the profound connection that links the Type to the town/city and the architectural project.

Teaching methods
A series of lectures and the experience of critical reading "in the field" of a small urban context and the consequent graphic representations constitute the preferred means of teaching.
Assessment methods and criteria
Some intermediary checks of the analytical work done and the final discussion of the papers are the preferred procedure to check on learning.
