Learning objectives
To provide the student with critical tools able to implement a first understanding of the architectonic organism, its constituent parts, and the ways in which it binds with the urban fabric.

Course unit content
The investigation on the fundamentals through which the student approaches the Architectural Design concepts and Distributive features of buildings forms the backbone of the first part of the course that takes place through ex-cathedra and exercises ex-tempore communications and makes use of ' intervention of external figures in moments of confrontation. Composition and distribution are then addressed in parallel, comparing each time the results of each phase of the exercises in a seminar format.
Theme of the project is the small pavilion as a place of reflection, dissemination of content, interaction with the city.

Teaching methods
A series of lectures and the experience of critical reading "in the field" of a urban context and the consequent graphic and volumetric representations constitute the preferred means of teaching.
Assessment methods and criteria
Some intermediary checks of the analytical work done and the final discussion of the papers are the preferred procedure to check on learning.
