Learning objectives
The course aims to deepen the knowledge of the anatomy of the oral cavity and understanding of the pathophysiology of the stomatognathic system in order to develop in students a critical skill on the topics covered, and therefore use the knowledge and understanding of the diagnostic and therapeutic methods orthodontic that may be useful to the professional activity of specific speech therapists.

Oral Anatomy and pathophysiology of stomatognatic apparatus. Action of the neuro-muscular system in the determinism of dental occlusion.
Full programme
Stomatognatic apparatus. Development of teething. Orthodontic and dental terminology. Overview of gnatology. Development of the occlusion. Caries prevention and parodontopatie. Etilogia of malocclusion. Classification of disharmony dento-maxillo-facial. Action of the Neuro-muscular system on occlusion. Special dental and orthodontic Pathology: dental Agenesis, supernumerary teeth, dental trauma, including teeth. Overview of orthodontic therapy.

Teaching methods
Lectures supplemented by discussion of topics in order to train students in critical skills on the topics and to provide them with knowledge of the stomatognathic useful to diagnose and solve the specific problems of professional speech therapists
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, with more teachers in order to ensure the quality and level of knowledge and understanding of the course content and the ability to apply the acquired knowledge to professional practice. The trial will also evaluate the quality of student participation in class.
