Learning objectives

The course aims at providing students with in-depth knowledge on some themes and authors of Spanish literature with a precise analysis and interpretation of linguistically complex texts. The student will learn: - to consolidate his knowledge of literary texts and to identify the main features: stylistic topics, relationship form-content, adaptation to the literary genre, etc. - to find bibliographic information on the subject matter of the course and on other issues - to demonstrate his competence in analysis, synthesis and evaluation of the proposed frameworks and thematically complex topics - to expound his knowledge in Spanish with coherence, logic and an appropriate language, demonstrating a linguistic skill corresponding to level C1 - to develop learning and analysis skills acquired during the course, so that they can be used in other contexts and autonomously.

Teaching methods

During the lectures, held in Spanish, the teacher will use the reference bibliography of the course, but also other materials to interpret the authors and the texts, highlighting the different and complex reading levels. The course will be integrated with various interventions on specific complementary themes with the aim of offering a multiplicity of perspectives, that lead to a more complex reading of the texts and to a wider presentation that reconstructs also the diffusion processes. The student will be encouraged to widen his knowledge, to develop a dialectic reflection and to verify his skill in understanding and interpretation.

Assessment methods and criteria

The verification of knowledge and skills is achieved through an oral test in Spanish. The knowledge and skills verified through the test are:
- a deep knowledge of the works and their characteristics, tested concretely as the author's own and as an expression of the literary period.
- ability to study autonomously, to find information, to decode complex texts, and to re-elaborate and expose the themes presented during the course
- the linguistic competence (comprehension and expression) corresponding to a level C1.
An evaluation of failure assessment is determined by the lack, demonstrated in the oral test, to express themselves appropriately, by the inability to solve problems related to information retrieval and the interpretation of texts. A sufficient evaluation (from 18 to 23/30) is determined by the demonstration of a mature learning of the course content; of the achievement of a linguistic understanding capacity corresponding to level C1; of the achievement of a sufficient level in the autonomous study and in bibliographic information retrieval. An average evaluation is determined by the achievement of a more than sufficient (24-25/30) or good (26-27/30) level of the indicators above. A high evaluation (from 28/30 to 30/30 cum laude) is determined by the achievement of a very good to excellent level of the same evaluation indicators.
