The course “Global Food Law: Sustainability Challenges and Innovation” is designed for those who wish to deepen their knowledge of sustainable development and innovation within the agri-food sector. The course is designed to develop professional skills for future officials, civil servants, and legal advisors specializing in the food sector, with a focus on both governmental administration and private and international organizations, as well as private companies. Ultimately, the course enhances problem-solving abilities by addressing real-world cases related to sustainability, food, and innovation.
The first year of the course will be conducted in-person, while the second year will shift into a blended learning modality, ensuring high-quality teaching with an experiential approach. The training program will include the following activities:
- Visits and internships at innovative, leading companies within the food sector.
- An interdisciplinary approach, equipping students with expertise not only in law but also in fields such as nutrition, economics, sociology, and more.
The course will be taught in English, with a strong emphasis on international mobility projects and opportunities.
The Course is part of a broader project, Food For Future, for which the Department of Law, Politics and International Studies has been awarded the title of Department of Excellence for the five-year term 2023-2027.
After graduation
The Course “Global Food Law: Sustainability Challenges and Innovation” will provide interdisciplinary knowledge capable of shaping professional figures acting thoroughly in national and international scenarios - starting with the European one - in which the challenge of sustainability is decided, with particular attention to the agri-food sector and technological innovation.
Job opportunities range from the public to the private sector, in particular, in the positions of Legal Officer and Legal Advisor expert in Food Law, sustainable development and innovation in Public Administration, in for-profit and non-profit undertakings and in the broader field of liberal professions. Considering a solid legal background coupled with an interdisciplinary methodology, a fresh graduate of the Course “Global Food Law: Sustainability, Challenges and Innovation” could be involved in roles such as but not limited to:
- Management and control specialist in public administrations;
- Management, development and control specialist in private undertakings;
