Why in Parma?

The course “Global Food Law: Sustainability Challenges and Innovation” is designed for those who wish to deepen their knowledge of sustainable development and innovation within the agri-food sector. The course is designed to develop professional skills for future officials, civil servants, and legal advisors specializing in the food sector, with a focus on both governmental administration and private and international organizations, as well as private companies. Ultimately, the course enhances problem-solving abilities by addressing real-world cases related to sustainability, food, and innovation.

The first year of the course will be conducted in-person, while the second year will shift into a blended learning modality, ensuring high-quality teaching with an experiential approach. The training program will include the following activities:

  • Visits and internships at innovative, leading companies within the food sector.
  • An interdisciplinary approach, equipping students with expertise not only in law but also in fields such as nutrition, economics, sociology, and more.

The course will be taught in English, with a strong emphasis on international mobility projects and opportunities.

The Course is part of a broader project, Food For Future, for which the Department of Law, Politics and International Studies has been awarded the title of Department of Excellence for the five-year term 2023-2027.
