Why in Parma?
The Translational Biomedical Sciences (SBT) course is run by the Department of Chemical, Life and Environmental Sustainability Sciences, designated by the MUR as a 'Department of Excellence' and supported by extraordinary five-year funding.
Thus SBT offers solid and up-to-date theoretical and methodological tools to become a competent biologist.
During the course you will be involved in laboratory activities and will have the opportunity to prepare your thesis in one of the scientific research groups coordinated by your lecturers.
From the academic year 2019-2020 three curricula are in place to enable students to pursue their scientific and professional interests: Health Biology, Neurobiology and Nutrition Biology.

After graduation
Upon completion of the course you will have acquired valuable skills for the follwoing employment prospects:
- academic career
- biomedical, neuroscience and nutrition research in the public and private sectors
- laboratory work in chemical-clinical analysis centres or in biological and quality control of products relevant to human health (food, drugs)
- laboratory activities in the medico-legal sector
- private professional activities in the field of nutrition
- professional and project activities within the public administration, in the field of health, nutrition and public hygiene
- scientific dissemination in the field of biomedicine.
