Why in Parma?

As of the academic year 2018/19, the degree course in Architecture Regeneration Sustainability is active. It is a generalist course of study in the field of architecture providing a broad theoretical basis, but with a slant towards sustainability and the regeneration of heritage and territory.

The introduction of this new course in the field of architecture implies the desire to create a professional figure in line with the requirements of the most developed sectors in the world of construction and building renovation, as well as in public spheres for building control, conservation of protected existing buildings and management of cities and territories.

More specifically, in these areas there is an ever greater focus on the needs of contemporary society, aimed at reducing overall consumption, recovering and recycling the existing, building the new in an increasingly eco-sustainable way, reducing its impact on the environment and the territory.

Such a vision, in line with the future, finds its practical realisation in a teaching plan that includes design workshops organised through a progressive interdisciplinary, in-depth study of the aspects related to architecture and its sustainability.

An intensive intermediate and/or final workshop is planned within each design workshop, with the participation of external experts and professionals.

Teaching includes an internship in Italy or abroad, thanks to the international cooperation agreements stipulated by the University.

Alternatively, they will have the opportunity to continue their studies by enrolling in a Master's degree course to complete the 3+2 pathway which, in accordance with European directives (36/85/EU and subsequent amendments), will allow them to perform their professional activities as architects and planners throughout Europe.
