Access requirements

a) second level degree (ex D.M. n. 509/99 and D.M. n. 270/04) in the following classes: Dentistry,
Medicine and Surgery
b) degree obtained according to the pre-reform regulations D.M. n. 509/99 equivalent to the above
classes (D.I. 9 July 2009: http:///attiministeriali.miur.it/anno-2009/luglio/di-09072009.aspx);
c) qualification issued abroad, recognised as eligible under the regulations in force by the Executive Committee
only for the purposes of enrolment in the course.
Candidates are required to submit self-certification of registration in the Register of Dentists and/or
Doctors Surgeons and professional RC insurance to the President of the master before the start of business
professionalizing.

The training activities of the master will focus on the following topics:
Aesthetic Medicine. Aesthetic Dermatology. Plastic Surgery. The role of the dentist: ethical limits and scope
professional. Forensic Medicine. Anatomy of facial structures. Topographic anatomy of the face: aesthetic units
facial. Anthropometry. Aging of the Face. Aesthetics of the Face. Beauty. Maxillofacial surgery. The aesthetic in
maxillofacial surgery. Orthodontic assistance to orthognatic surgery. New imaging technologies
three-dimensional CT, CBCT and stereo imaging. The virtual patient. Patient programming
dysmorphic on SVTO, clinical and 3D basis. Photography. Photoaging, chronoaging. Check-up of the
cute. Skin biotypes. The main facial imperfections. Intraoral and aesthetic imperfections of the smile: gummy smile,
dental dyschromia. Smile design. Whitening. Cosmetic oral surgery. Bruxism and masseterin hypertrophy.
Classification of wrinkles. Biorevitalization. Fillers. Merceology of hyaluronic acids. Volumetric approach
in the treatment of facial aging. Neuromodulatory proteins. Photobiomodulation. Biostimulation wires, wires
suspension, free floating threads. Hints of cosmetology. Marketing hints. Lasers. The aesthetic therapeutic plan:
operational protocols. Topical, injective and instrumental methods for the correction of imperfections in the various
facial regions. Exercises. Literature analysis.
Some training activities can be carried out at a distance. There will be workshops at the main conferences
of Aesthetic Medicine (SIES, SIME, Agora)
The final exam will consist of a Master’s thesis: original work or literature review

Professional profile

The dentist and the surgeon who will earn the master will acquire knowledge and skills
interdisciplinary on facial aesthetics in all its meanings: both in the normal patient during development and in the
subsequent facial aging processes that in dysmorphic patient, with his needs to maximize
the aesthetic effect of surgery. They will learn, diagnosis and medical treatment of facial imperfections
related to the most common congenital and acquired facial diseases whenever the impact on the quality of life is
significant for the patient. Such treatments will include the use of absorbable injectable materials based on
hyaluronic acid, peelings, neuromodulatory proteins, lasers, biostimulation, wires. They will be able to fill out
an aesthetic medical record that will include the acquisition of photographic documentation, to understand the
needs of the patient, and to guide him in choosing an appropriate treatment plan. They will know how to place a suspicion
diagnostic for the main skin diseases and direct the patient to the appropriate carer. They are provided
exercises on the main therapeutic methods for the correction of facial imperfections
following facial pathologies that cause significant psychological distress to the patient.
