Learning objectives

- Acquire the terminology and basic concepts of CT and MRI in the Neuroradiologic field
- Apply their knowledge and expertise of the Neurological Disease in the professional context

Prerequisites

- - -

Course unit content

- Clinical implementation of imaging, including any functional variants to the intrinsic characteristics of the patient and the individual clinical case
- Provide an overview of the state of the art of the methods used in clinical practice in the neuroradiological field, indicating innovative applications and future potential, in association with the implementation of diagnostic techniques currently not belonging to the everyday life
- Know the main pathologies of the CNS (skull and spine), object of study of the diagnostic tests in election and urgency
- Ability to evaluate the patient's previous medical history for the optimal choice of the appropriate diagnostic tools and relative timing
- Understanding and knowledge of indications and clinical cases, in the diagnostic field
- Reinforcement of previous knowledge or background, of radiological anatomy of the normal and pathological CNS
- Contrast media: methods of administration and optimization of the bolus geometry

Teaching methods

Lectures will be held on-site in compliance with safety standards, provided that further instructions on the ongoing health emergency are not implemented. Supporting material will be available on the specific, student-reserved platform (Elly) and will include slide presentations, audio-video aids or video-recording

Assessment methods and criteria

Oral exam with double verification:
1) Questions regarding the course contents *
2) Verification of the application of the acquired knowledge with simulation of clinical cases: QUIZ CASE (OPTIONAL) *
* in the event of a health emergency, as per the indications provided by the Ministry of Education with specific notes (in particular of 06/03/2020, prot.n. 278 and of 17/03/2020, prot.n.388), the realization of the theoretical part of the planned training activity will take place using remote telematic methods. The type of platform will be sent from time to time to the Representatives of the relevant course year.
