Integrated course unit module: KIDNEY AND URINARY TRACT PATHOLOGIES

Learning objectives

The course is aimed to provide the physiopathological bases for the study of the most important renal conditions

Prerequisites

The requirements have been determined by the Medical School Council.

Course unit content

1) The pathophysiology of fluid and electrolyte disorders. Volume regulation at cell and body level. Edema. Hypernatremia and hyponatremia.

2) The pathophysiology of acid-base disorders. Acidosis and alkalosis.
3) The pathophysiology of potassium, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium disorders.
