Learning objectives

Knowledge and understanding:
At the end of the course the student will learn the basic principles necessary to the evaluation of the indoor and outdoor thermal comfort.
Applying knowledge and understanding:
At the end of the course the student should have acquired applied knowledge on the indoor and outdoor thermal comfort. The student must also know the main reference standards within the field.
Making judgments:
By the end of the course the student will have the tools to critically evaluate the design choices in the relation to the indoor and outdoor thermal comfort.
Communication skills:
the student must possess the ability to present clearly the procedure adopted in the assessment of the indoor and outdoor thermal comfort.

Prerequisites

To follow the seminar with profit requires knowledge of the basic concepts of Applied Physics.

Course unit content

The course aims to provide expertise on the design of buildings, semi-outdoor and outdoor urban spaces in relation to thermal comfort. The activity consists of a seminar aimed at introducing the topic of thermal comfort.
