Learning objectives

Provide knowledge of dental occlusion and of the masticatory function, especially with reference to diagnostic and orthodontic therapeutic needs.

Stomatognatic system. Development of dentition. Dental and orthodontic terminology. Overview of gnatology: centric relation and centric occlusion. Occlusion: static relationship, dynamic relationship. Occlusion and neuro-muscolar system. Instrumental examinations for orthodontic diagnostics: Orthopantomography. Remote laterolateral radiography. Remote posteroanterior radiography. Remote mentum-vertex radiography. Occlusal radiographs. Radiography of the hand and of the wrist.

Oral exam, with more teachers in order to ensure the quality and level of knowledge and understanding of the course content and the ability to apply the acquired knowledge to professional practice. The trial will also evaluate the quality of student participation in class.
