Integrated course unit module: CORE ARCHITECTURAL AND URBAN COMPOSITION STUDIO

Learning objectives

To acquire awareness of all levels of intervention behind a major work, from those properly architectural, to those that are more technological/environmental, to those urban concerns par excellence, up to the fundamental socio-economic aspects, as points of departure and arrival of the whole experience. The purpose of the lessons and the checks is therefore to provide the foundation to start preparing the Master's thesis.

Course unit content

The project for the "grand work" of the major intervention of urban regeneration, the grand infrastructure, as a significant moment in the transformation of a place, in the definition of a settlement culture, in the evolution of a society. Behind every great intervention lies a multiplicity of complex requirements, players, concerns and aspirations which can often "place mark" the history of a place and a society. This is the moment when the synergic and coordinated co-presence of different professional skills really does allows a sketching of possible scenarios for the near future. Knowing how to read, at all levels, these experiences is the foundation of this work.
