Learning objectives
The course aims to introduce the students to critical variables of educational interaction. This kind of competence woul help each of them to set oneself basic questions in decision making about effectiveness of educational training.
Prerequisites
Basic competences of general psychology and developmental psychology
Course unit content
The first part of the course presents a brief history of Educational Psychology since the origin to the present status of art. The definition of subject matter of Educational Psychology and of philosophy of science dealing with, will conveniently be pointed out. In particular we will discuss the following problems: a) decision making about educational targets, b) planning the learning occasions, c) controlling and evaluating learning outcomes.
The second set of lectures will examine teaching-learning interactions. Several critical features will be pointed out.
In particular we will examine: the basic learning processes; the concept of developmental continuum; simple and complex behavioral repertories; assessment, control and evaluation of critical events in behavioral analysis.

Teaching methods
The lectures will be always explained with video illustrating instances of both the experimental analysis of behaviour and applied analysis. Practices and trainings will be organized, both in collaboration with skilled educational psychologists -to support the learning of knowledges and competences- and in form of role-playing and decision making situations to increase students’communication skills and problem-solving techniques .

Assessment methods and criteria
The final examination will be both written and oral. The written test consists of both a multiple choice responses test and open-ended questions: the former is more devoted to verify the mastery level on knowledges, the latter are specifically designed to assess students’ synthesis skill and their self-management competence. The oral part of examination will verify the students’ ability to generalize educational concepts and principles, learned over the course, among many different applied settings, and their competence on verbal behavior.
