Learning objectives

The aim of the course is to complement the basic hydrologic concepts (acquired in the course “Idrologia”) and to develop the main topics concerning basin management plans, mainly with reference to flood defence. To complete also the knowledge of flood control measures in mountain streams and in plain rivers.

Hydraulics, Hydrology

Course unit content

Hydrology complements. Movable-bed models. Dam and land protection regulations. River floodways. Torrent settlement. Mild slope rivers settlement and floods control.
