Learning objectives
The course aims to give the student the essential concepts concerning the main infectious zoonoses with particular reference to zoonoses of zootechnic interest and of food origin. At the end of the course, the student will have acquired competence relating to the application of preventive measures for controlling diseases of zoonotic origin in general and of the zoonoses dealt with in particular.

<br /> GENERAL DETAILS<br />Definitions of zoonoses. Frequency, importance, etiology, symptomatology and fight methods against anthropozoonoses.<br />Analytical epidemiology:<br />a) sources of infection<br />b) methods of transmission<br />Synthetic epidemiology:<br />a)circumstances of infection of humans: professional zoonoses, accidental zoonoses, freetime zoonoses, family zoonoses<br />b)life cycle of causal agent: orthozoonosis, cyclozoonosis, metazoonosis, saprozoonosis<br />c)evolution of zoonoses in humans<br />ANALYTICAL STUDY<br />The course will examine the main bacterial and viral infectious zoonoses. Etiology, epidemiology , pathogenesis, clinical pictures, diagnosis, therapy, disease prevention measures and the legislation will be considered for each disease.
