Integrated course unit module: DENTAL PROSTHESIS

Learning objectives

The teaching of the denture is designed to allow the student to know and to understand the theoretical and practical knowledge which will enable a systematic and rational approach to the diagnosis and treatment of oral rehabilitation with fixed and removable prostheses, whether partial or total.

LEARNING OUTCOMES



-Objectives of knowledge (know):

The student at the end of the course will demonstrate knowledge and understanding about the principles of occlusion, the principles of aesthetics and phonetics, treatment by means of partial edentulism fixed and removable restorations, treatment of edentulism by complete dentures.


-Objectives of competence (skills):
at the end of the course the student should be able to make a diagnosis and suggest a rehabilitation plan, report and analyze the diagnostic models mounted on a simulator, prepare the abutment teeth, do the fingerprints, test, try, cement fixed provisional prosthesis and final design, package and incorporate a full denture.Annulla modificheAlpha

Course unit content

The first lessons concern the treatment of partial edentulism with fixed prostheses.
The set up, the intermaxillary relations.
Then we will explain the principles dele preparations partial and total, the prints, the interim, the principles of aesthetics, color theory, ceramics grains.
In the last part of the course examines the treatment of edentulism by means of complete dentures.

Teaching methods

The training will be carried out through lectures, seminars, interactive teaching sessions with discussion of clinical cases, always giving great importance to open dialogue with students in order to develop and stimulate their understanding and knowledge, communication skills and the ability learning.
