Learning objectives

To acquire knowledge of the main audiological investigations in the classification of transmission, cochlear and retrocochlear hypoacusis, through practical activities at the Audiometry Service.

Course unit content

Classification of hypoacusis in the main diseases of the middle ear (otosclerosis, chronic otitis).
Classification of hypoacusis in the main diseases of the inner ear (labyrinthitis, Menière’s disease, presbycusis, noise deafness).
Classification of hypoacusis in the main retrocochlear diseases (neuritis, acoustic neuroma).
