<br /><br />Programme of the course:<br /><br /><br />The normal newborn: clinical examination and physiological adaptation<br /><br />Breast-feeding and diet in the first year of life<br /><br />Neonatal infections<br /><br />Hearing risk factors in the newborn:<br /><br />Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS)<br /><br />Neurological diseases in the preterm newborn<br /><br />Major malformation syndromes (with particular reference to hearing problems)<br /><br />Neonatal icterus<br /><br />Hemolytic disease of the newborn<br /><br />Fetal and neonatal circulation<br /><br />Physiological and pathological growth<br /><br />Pathophysiology and clinics of the main congenital cardiopathies<br /><br />Upper respiratory tract infections.<br /><br />Bronchiolitis<br /><br />Bronchitis and pneumonia<br /><br />Bronchial asthma<br /><br />Diagnosis and treatment of juvenile Diabetes Mellitus<br /><br />Coarctation of the aorta<br /><br />Main cardiac arrhythmias in infants<br /><br />Rickets<br /><br />Acute and chronic enteritis and malabsorption<br /><br />Glomerulonephritis and nephrosis<br /><br />Urinary Tract infections.<br /><br />Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis<br /><br />Rheumatic disease<br /><br />Measles, Rubella, Scarlet Fever, Mumps, Whooping Cough, Hepatitis.<br /><br />Infectious mononucleosis, Meningitis and Meningoencephalitis<br /><br />Allergic disorders<br /><br />Physiological and pathological puberty (Precocious and late puberty, Precocious pseudopuberty)<br /><br />Seizures in infants<br /><br />Vaccinations<br />The Pediatrics Course also includes practical exercises at the In-patient’s Ward of the Pediatrics Dept.
