Learning objectives

<br />The aim of the module is the knowledge of the anatomical terms and the human body organization: locomotor system, angiology, respiratory system, alimentary system, endocrine glands, nervous system, urogenital system, auditory and vestibular apparatus.

Course unit content

<br />General features about skeleton, skeletal muscles, joints, with particular reference to skull bones.<br />Angiology: heart and systemic and pulmonary circulation. Lymphatic system: lymph nodes, thymus and spleen.<br />General features of human body system:<br />-respiratory system (larynx, trachea, bronchi and lungs)<br />-alimentary system (oral cavity, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small and large intestine, liver and pancreas)<br />-urogenital system<br />-endocrine glands.<br />General features about the central nervous system (encephalon and spinal cord) and peripheral nervous system (cranial and spinal nerves with particular reference to the facial and vestibulocochlear nerves). Auditory and vestibular pathways.<br />Auditory and vestibular apparatus. External ear. Tympanic cavity; auditory ossicles.<br />Internal ear: bony labyrinth, membranous labyrinth, vestibule, saccule, utricle,semicircular ducts; cochlea and cochlear duct, spiral organ of Corti.<br />
