Course unit content

<br /> CONTENTS:  The first part illustrates the concept of social protection as a tool for the prevention of deviant behaviour and crime through a series of activities aimed at preventing actions that are damaging to society from being carried out.- The second part analyses deviancy and criminality from a theoretical viewpoint, by means of in-depth study of the main sociological theories, in search of the causes of the deviant phenomenon understood as social dysfunction.- Finally, the third part deals with some aspects of “deviancy” in current Italian society with an emphasis on the ways in which the community reacts to deviant behaviour, with attention to the social production of abnormal conduct and to the deviant individual and his/her antisocial motives.
