Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students with a general picture, accompanied by relevant in-depth analyses, of twentieth-century British culture in its historical, political, economic and cultural aspects. At the same time, students will acquire the appropriate methodological instruments to enable them to examine autonomously cultural phenomena and documents in the British tradition.

Course unit content
The course examines twentieth-century British culture in a historical perspective, focusing on its institutional, political, social, economic and artistic aspects. More specifically, the course concentrates on the period from the 1950s to the present time. The cultural materials and documents examined during the course may include printed texts, films and documentaries, photographs and other visual documents, and art objects.
