Learning objectives

Students must have knowledge of the basic elements of diseases treated during the course and be prepared to use such knowledge with a view to improving their professional skills.

Prerequisites

Students are expected to possess basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology as well as of general pathology

Course unit content

<br />The most important topics relative to diseases requiring thoracic surgery and useful for the profession are dealt with. The topics covered in the lessons are as follows: Lung Cancer, Pneumothorax, Pleural Effusion, Pleural Tumours, Mediastinal Tumours, Thoracic Wall Tumours, Thoracic trauma, Pulmonary Metastases, Thoracic Drainage.
