Learning objectives

The basic knowledge of the most important problems of the byzantine history and of the relationships between Byzantium and medieval Italy and Europe.

Course unit content

<p>Aspects of the byzantine monasticism. After some methodological introductions and reflections about the main questions of the byzantine history, the course will be about  the beginning and the evolution of the oriental monasticism and especially about  the byzantine spirituality.</p>
