Learning objectives

The course aims to address the issue of culture and cultures within the complexity of the contemporary world. In particular the following topics will be addressed: the relationship between culture and society, culture and social change; the different spheres of cultural production with particular reference to art, science and technology. Moreover, the objective of the course is to combine theory with empirical research.

Course unit content

Course Title: Arte, cultura e società. <br />
After an introduction to the core content, the course will concentrate on the production and the reception of culture. Particular attention will be devoted to current patterns of use, the creative role of new technologies and to the subtle interweaving of the art system and economy. <br />

The course is organised in a 5 credit module. <br />
