Learning objectives

To provide students with specialised, methodologically aware knowledge, enabling them to work with critical independence both in the subject area in general and above all on specific research of a specialist nature.

Course unit content

The course is both general and specialist in nature and analyses two texts which gave rise to performances of extraordinary interest in the context of the twentieth-century Russian avantgarde, Crommelynck’s Le cocu magnifique and Gogol’s The Auditor, staged in two extraordinary performances by Mejerchol'd.
