Learning objectives

The monographic course proposes an examination of the main historical-literary and philological questions related to the play in question, with reference to the Attic tragedy production based on the events of the Labdacids.

Prerequisites

Consolidation and refinement of the knowledge acquired during the Greek Literature course taught by Professor G. Burzacchini, with particular reference to the grammatical history of the Greek language, prosody, history of textual tradition and criticism, and the history of Greek literature.

Teaching methods

Teaching methods are based on classroom lectures, but may at times take the form of seminars. Lectures are accompanied by tutorial sessions. <br />
Students who do not meet the course attendance requirements are advised to attend the practical courses in Greek literature, prosody and historical grammar which are held in parallel with the courses on Greek literature taught by Professor G. Burzacchini. <br />
Assessment consists of an oral exam to ascertain that the course goals have been attained. <br />
