Learning objectives

The course aims to provide basic elements of history of film while at the same time giving students methods for interpreting motion-picture language.

Course unit content

The course is organized in two parts. The first relates to the milestones and masters of film history associated with the showing and critical reading of classic works. The second part (module B) deals with the theme of the relationship between dream and reality in film, with specific consideration for the work of American director Vincente Minnelli, whose most important films in this regard were shown.
