Acquisition of a solid knowledge on the origin of sexual reproduction, sex determination and on cytological and molecular aspects of oogenesis, spermatogenesis and fertilisation.

Course unit content

<p>Recent studies of reproductive and developmental biology have set the conceptual bases for a better understanding of the processes of mammalian gametogenesis, fertilisation and development, opening new applicative perspectives in biomedicine. The course aims to delivere a solid knowledge on the origin of sexual reproduction, sex determination and on cytological and molecular aspects of oogenesis, spermatogenesis and fertilisation. Frontal  lessons will be followed by laboratory experiences.<br />
